TENNIS CANOPY PROTOTYPE

Lead architect: Feasibility design services to The Tennis Foundation.

2014

Outcome: Adaptable playing environment with moderated internal climate.

Concept exploration of lightweight airbeam structure used with considerable success at the National Tennis Centre, into a more manoeuvrable and temporary self supported court covering two or four clay, tarmac or acrylic count surface types. Artificial lighting is highly focussed to the internal spaces, alleviating light spread, common with column lit courts. Internal condensation risk is mitigated by perimeter panel ventilation and localised air flow.
